Life & Health Insurance License

- In order to get started with Brightstar, you must have an active Health and Life license in your resident state. Click the button below to view your state requirements.

Errors & Omission Insurance

- We have an E & O Insurance Program specifically tailored for each agent from 360 CoveragePros including group preferred rates starting at $395 annually. Monthly payment options are also available.

Get Started With Medicare

Contracting & Certification

- As an independent agent, you will need to get contracted with each individual carrier. Determining which carriers to contract with, will depend on the counties and states you are selling in. Typically, we start with 3-4 carriers and then add more as needed.

The certification process is an annual process. You will need to complete the new certifications every year prior to AEP. However, after your first year, some carriers offer a quick certification process.

AHIP Certification

- AHIP is $175. If you take AHIP through one of the carrier certification paths, you will be given a $50 discount. We recommend that you complete AHIP while you are working on your certifications. AHIP is also an annual certification, and it is usually released around June.

  • 1-on-1 Marketing Meeting

    • This initial marketing meeting is to discuss all of your marketing options. As an independent agent you get to grow your business any way you want. If you want to focus on in-person meetings, Great! If you want to focus on remote sales, Great! Whatever your goals, we can help you understand your options.   • Create Marketing Plan

    • A marketing plan is going to be a unique set of goals and marketing methods based on your skills, and preferences. This will become your "roadmap" to acquiring new clients. Having a set marketing plan should provide you with daily, weekly, and monthly, tasks that will lead to enrollments.

  • Build Website

    • We will build a custom website 100% free for agents. Please reach out to Brandon to get started. The only thing that will cost you money is the domain. You can purchase a domain on GoDaddy.com.

  • Get Business Cards

    • We will order your first order of 500 business cards. Please work with Greg or Brandon on a design, if you would like a custom design.

  • Make GoogleBusiness Account

    • Go to business.google.com to create your local business listing. This will help you collect and display reviews, and attract local business. Once this is created, please set up an appointment with Brandon to review the listing and optimize.

  • Start Networking

    • Building a referral base and networking with other professionals is the BEST thing you can do for long term growth. Below is a list of people you can start talking to (not a complete list, just a start)
